To know that I was surrounded by so many like-minded people was a great source of strength and energy in my campaign. Your hard work and energy inspired me to do my very best to win this election against all odds. But now it is time to return to the hard work of managing the affairs of our great town. It is a time to join forces to make our town an even better place in which to live. To that end, I encourage all of you to share your constructive ideas and views with the Mayor and his Administration for making our town an even better place to live and raise our families. It is my sincere hope that this election marks the beginning of a new era of open and frugal government for the Town of Agawam. Taking nothing away from the Mayor and his victory, it was clear that a very significant slice of our town's residents has identified with the messages that my campaign has put forth. We hope that real open government becomes the normal mode of operation, and that the Mayor and his Administration will make good on their promise to treat the town's monies with the frugality and conservativeness demanded by this troubled economy. The town's people simply want to know that their hard-earned tax dollars are being put to the best possible use, and that no one is unfairly prospering while we all strive to make ends meet. Let us now turn our efforts to making Agawam the very best town in the country in which to live. My wish to all of us is a swift return to prosperity, and that we be constantly surrounded by the love of our family and friends. God bless us all. |
